The blue Morpho rhetenor helena is considered one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world. In my opinion, this is the king of the butterfly world. They are endemic to Peru, with greatest density around a village called Tingo Maria.

The name Helena comes from Helen of Troy, granted to this brilliant specimen by Staudinger in 1890. An appropriate name indeed.
