Blue Morpho Butterflies for Mom this Mother's Day

So you want to get Mom the best gift this year for Mother's Day, well look no further. 20% off our Mother's day selection plus free shipping. This particular Blue morpho butterfly is the Rhetenor cacica, that belongs to a special group of the Morphidae family.

The blue Morpho rhetenor helena is considered one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world. In my opinion, this is the king of the butterfly world. They are endemic to Peru, with greatest density around a village called Tingo Maria.

The Best Mother's Day Gift for Mom this Year

The name Helena comes from Helen of Troy, granted to this brilliant specimen by Staudinger in 1890. An appropriate name indeed.

7.25" x 6.5" Black frame with double pane glass front and back (see through). All frames are sealed.

Great Mother's Day Gift Ideas for Mom's that like butterflies

Blue Butterfly Morpho Didius Mounted in White Frame

This is a real, framed blue morpho butterfly, Didius, framed in white. A great Mother's Day gift for moms that love butterflies or a stunning addition to any butterfly collection. This is just one of the many pieces in our Mother's Day collection from Ben the Butterfly Guy.

Black and Blue Butterfly Napeocles jucunda Mounted in White Frame

This is the very cool black and blue butterfly, the Napeocles jucunda, which also happens to be my favorite butterfly of all time. The wings look like a satin black spread along with a wing shape and pattern that resemble 2 penguins back to back getting ready for a duel.

Real Framed Blue Morpho Butterflies for Mother's Day

Real Framed Blue Morpho Butterflies Mother's Day Gift

A unique Mother's Day gift for Mom this is not your average collection of Morpho butterflies with a bunch of common species, this frame has some of the more uncommon species like the darker blue M. rhetenor cacica, helena, and the cisseis phanodemus.

This piece is called "Morphos on the Attack" and is a stunning collection of blue butterflies are all from the Morpho butterfly family. The different patterns and hues on their blue butterfly wings are a result of a natural phenomena known as light diffraction.

In a sense, the blue morpho buttefly is blue for the same reason as the sky and the ocean where light is met by an obstacle in which not all waves of light can make it through the obstacle.

This is a piece from Ben the Butterfly Guy and has the following qualities:

≥ Each butterfly is spread entomologically and professionally preserved (we do not cut the wings and glue them back on, use fake antennaes or fake bodies)

≥ 19" x 30" Black finished, wood frame

≥ Our frames are not riker mounts nor shadow boxes, they are double-sided with crystal glass so you can see the front and backsides of each butterfly

≥ Each frame is tightly sealed with silicone

≥ Each order can be gift wrapped, include a message or detailed information on the butterflies you are purchasing.

≥ If you have a special request or idea please feel free to contact me

Framed Blue Morpho Butterfly Art Collection On the Attack in Black

All frames are hand crafted and the quality and characteristics are much better then the common, one-sided Riker Mounts. One of the great benefits of double pane glass framing is that you can see the front and back sides of the mounted butterflies. In most cases involving Neotropical butterflies the front and back sides of the wings are distinctly different. The back many times displays a species distinct form of self defense.

Every butterfly from Ben the Butterfly Guy comes from butterfly farms throughout the Eastern region of Peru. All butterflies here are classified non-endangered by the international CITES listings as reviewed by both the Ministry of Agriculture from Peru and U.S. Fish and Wildlife in the States. Copies of documentation and clearance are available upon request for your assurance and peace of mind.
